Recycle It: The Good Stuff
Helloooo, darkness my old friend! Too soon? I write to you with very dry hands because apparently Purell=life. Jokes aside, in recent days the weight of the world’s gloom seems inescapable. It may feel as though panic, worry, fear, and uncertainties are waiting to greet us on every street corner like some long lost friend. Remember, however, that you get to choose your friends. By this I mean that most important to remember in times of uncertainty is the power of choice. With information and misinformation circling about, it’s a call to be vigilant of what we choose to read, watch, and believe.
Running with that, when was the last time we as a humanity were called to live on a day by day, hour by hour basis? I love a solid game plan, but hell let’s be honest, a solid game plan is just not in the cards as the state of our country, and our world, seems to be changing from one moment to the next. My friends, the state of the world today is teaching us to be present, in the most in-your-face way, yes, but nonetheless important. That’s how I’m choosing to see this pandemic.
Growing up one of my mother’s repeat advices (momma knows best) whenever I was feeling frustrated, was to “Recycle It”. By this she meant taking all of the energy built up around my frustration, and recycling into something useful. Sitting with my negative energy would only cause it to magnify and create problems that don’t necessarily exist, but doing something about it, well- that’s where I would regain my power. As many jobs and workplaces have resorted to remote work models, we might find ourselves frustrated, uncomfortable, even fearful. Frustrated, uncomfortable, and fearful with extra time on our hands, however, could be a recipe for disaster if you sit with them too long. Recycle it.
In the midst of our staying home, quarantining, and social distancing, now is the time to do that thing you haven’t had the time to do. For each of us our “thing” is different, but whatever it is, I assure you that our world needs it at this time. Your passion project, your energy cleansing, your hopefulness, your excitedness about working toward that something you have been putting off- whatever it is. All of this positive recycled energy that we collectively work to create will translate to positive energy sent out into this world- and the world needs it!
After all, when it comes down to it we are all just balls of energy. The gloominess that we’re sending out into the world is understandable, but wouldn’t we all be able to breathe a bit lighter if we all made a conscious decision to send out more love, light, and hope in place of fear, doubt, and worry. That choice is completely ours. By recycling the latter we can begin to work toward brighter days together. Nothing is more powerful than one humanity working toward one agenda, positive intention is more powerful than any virus. I can assure you that positivity begets more positivity, my dears.
Do this with me: every morning when you awake, take a moment to visualize a ball of yellow light full of love and happiness. Then send it out into the world! Visualize your ball of light reaching people in cities everywhere.
Love and Light!
Xx, Sab
