27 Things I’ve Learned in 27 Years
1. Everything you need is inside of you: I am that which I seek, I am, I am, I am. Look no further, you have everything you need right here, right now.
2. Choose your thoughts: the thoughts you choose are the real deal miracle makers in manifestation. Choose thoughts based on their joy factor; remember you choose what stays and you choose what goes.
3. Smile I Am: growing up my father’s simple reminder “smile I am” has followed me through adulthood. It’s a call to remember that things could be worse and in this moment choose a smile, they are contagious.
4. Gratitude is Heaven itself: when you live in a spirit of thankfulness, you are untouchable come what may. You are untouchable because you are in a constant state of flow, your peace can’t be shaken.
5. Listen first: listening is such a grace, before you’re ready to share your piece, listen. And listen fully present.
6. Energy is contagious: your energy precedes you.
7. The squeaky wheel gets the grease: if you continue putting into the world that you want something, or want to do something, best believe you’ll get that response. Stay manifesting my friends.
8. When you ask for advice, the response you’re ready to defend is what’s really on your heart: periodt. We complicate things for ourselves. I’m not saying nix reaching out to your circle for advice. I’m saying learn to trust the answer that’s already on your heart.
9. Ground yourself in something that feels good: what makes you feel most connected to yourself? To others? Do more of that.
10. A morning routine is sacred gold: starting your day with you is the most important thing you can do for yourself, even if it’s just for 5 minutes. Romanticize the crap of your morning routine.
11. You vs. You: it’s the only true obstacle that exists, you’re only in competition with yourself.
12. Stay out of your own way: boxing taught me this. Next time self-doubt creeps in, visualize tapping yourself on your own shoulder and move yourself out of your way. Freedom is on the other side of fear.
13. Baby steps are big steps: it’s all part of the process baby, baybay!
14. Check in on your strong friend: nothing makes me feel more seen than those random “how are you doing” or “I was just thinking of you” texts or notes- pay them forward.
15. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable: it’s the only true way to grow- doing the things that make our skin crawl, that make our hands shake, that we feel that we’re incapable of. On the flip side we learn more about ourselves, and just how strong and resilient we are.
16. You only get to be a beginner once: so enjoy it, be gentle with yourself as you’re learning something new.
17. If your dreams don’t scare you, they aren’t big enough: I was on to something when I wrote this as my senior yearbook quote. DREAM BIG, BE YOUR OWN BIGGEST FAN. CELEBRATE EVERY TINY VICTORY!
18. REST
19. Synchronicity is real: believe in the moments of grace, those inexplicable moments where everything is aligned. Most importantly, believe that you’re deserving of experiencing them because you are.
20. When you forgive, the person you’re setting free is yourself: forgiveness is the stairway to Heaven, and it’s ours to choose.
21. Love your story: it starts with you. Accepting your trials, your hurts, your traumas, your joys, your everythings.
22. You can go your own way: go against the grain. Do what makes your heart flutter, and it’s so okay if it doesn’t look like what the person next to you is doing.
23. PAY ATTENTION: my father had this army general friend that always said this phrase, my family since adopted. It’s simple but holds weight.
24. Mindset shift: “I don’t have to do this, I get to do this”: perspective is everything, and life is fleeting- we don’t have to do anything, we get to!
25. Don’t be flexible, be fluid in life: flexibility insinuates a breaking point, be fluid in how you approach things.
26. HEAL: there isn’t a time limit.
27. Do small things with great love: when we do the small things with great love, the great things just come naturally sans the overwhelm and frustration- because we’re doing what we’re all called to do- just being. Anything beyond that, complicates the simplicity that is our birthright.
Love and light!
